[0x48] Installing Vendetta Online in Linux (Ubuntu)

Good day!


A lot of gamer with linux experience use windows probably a dual boot system alongside with their favorite linux distro. The reason for this is because of lots of games before only runs on windows, but hey time passed and as of today there are big game companies like Valve migrating or supporting the open-source OS like linux for their games. The other one is the Guild Software, the one who develop an online MMORPG, the Vendetta Online.


Vendetta Online is a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) from Guild Software Inc (take a look at the game trailer!). In this game, thousands of people can play together, at the same time, in a single, persistent universe. Players take the form of spaceship pilots within this universe, flying to and fro between space stations and other locations in the galaxy. All combat within the game is fully realtime, based entirely on "twitch" skill (no "virtual dice rolling"). You directly pilot and fly your own ship, you are not a back-seat "navigator". Players may fight one another, or against Non-Player Characters (NPCs), even participating in massive border battles between nations or helping eradicate the vicious Hive. The thriving and complex economy of the galaxy makes many opportunities for traders, miners and smugglers alike.

So how do you install it?

Here, I will give you a simple step on how to download and install it.
1.) First you need to create an account to be able to download the binary.
2.) Then download the game here
3.) After you downloaded the vendetta online, fire up your favorite terminal shell.
4.) A lot of people having problem on how to execute the installer. You need to cd into it in your terminal and make sure you have set it to executable file format and simply install it via these command:

$ chmod +x vendetta-linux-amd64-installer.sh
$ sudo ./vendetta-linux-amd64-installer.sh 

5.) When prompt for password, enter the sudo'ers password and specify the installed path then your done installing it.

To launch the game simply cd into the directory of the installed vendetta online and then do:

$ sudo ./vendetta

There, you now have successfully installed the vendetta online.
Alternative, you can also install it on both Windows or Android platform.
